Who Are We

THERAPY, CLINICAL SUPERVISION

Priscilla Pek (she/her), Director/RMT

Priscilla (she/her) is a Melbourne-based registered music therapist working on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples. She has extensive experience in paediatrics, working with children and young people across palliative care, developmental, physical and mental health. She has 13+ years of clinical experience and has also contributed to the training and supervision of music therapists and music therapy students. Priscilla has been a guest lecturer and continues to tutor at The University of Melbourne. She is currently Head of Music, Art and Child Life Therapies at a major health network and leads a Music for Employee Wellbeing program across the organisation.

Since working in the private sector and NDIS, Priscilla has had opportunity to work more directly with neurodiversity, and adults in disability and mental health. Her passion remains working with adolescents, young people, and adults in mental health, including eating disorders and with those who identify with diverse cultural backgrounds and the LGBTQIA+ community.

‘Concordia’ was the “goddess of harmony or peace”. Priscilla believes that creating harmony within ourselves leads to harmony around us, and that we find harmony when we live a life aligned with our authentic selves. She strives to help others find harmony within themselves, and aims to lead by example. She is a Swiftie who is thoroughly enjoying The Life of a Showgirl, and according to Spotify Wrapped 2024, listened to 108 different genres. She is currently addicted to pickle ball and adjusting to the transition from tennis.

THERAPY

Chanlyn Yeung (she/her), RMT

Chanlyn (she/her) is a new-graduate registered music therapist working on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, based in the North-East suburbs of Melbourne. She has just completed her post-graduate training at the University of Melbourne, with an extensive background in formal musical studies and a diverse span of experiences in both clinical and nonclinical supporting roles. Chanlyn’s overarching aspirations are to provide sensitivity and kindness with each individual she works with, to ultimately support and celebrate their personal journeys with the aid of music and compassion.

From her placements, Chanlyn has had much experience in working particularly with disabilities and neurodiversity across a range of presentations and age brackets in the private and public healthcare sectors. Her passions have always lied in working with young people and mental health, as Chanlyn proudly carries herself as someone with many aligned lived experiences in this regard.

She believes that in cultivating space for sincerity, curiosity and understanding to flourish, our truest selves may also have the space to flourish and thrive too. Besides from professional work, Chanlyn enjoys diversifying her downtime in various ways; being in nature, spending time with friends and pursuing personal creative projects are some of her favourites. She’s also a nerd with DC Comics — her favourite mainstream character is Batman.

THERAPY

Katie (Young jin) Ko (she/her), RMT

Katie Ko (she/her) is a Melbourne-based Registered Music Therapist working on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples. She has 10+ years of experience working with older adults, adolescents, and young children in clinical and non-clinical roles. As a music therapist, Katie has worked in aged care facilities to support individuals through end-of-life and dementia care. As a musician and mentor, she continues to work with children and adults of all ages within their musical and personal growth.

Katie strives to attune to each individual and support their personal growth through compassionate, strengths-based, and collaborative practice. As a 2nd generation Korean-Australian, Katie is particularly passionate about working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and supporting them to embrace and celebrate their identities.

Katie is deeply passionate about genuine connection and acts of kindness. She believes that every person carries an inner light, and that being seen and understood can help each light shine brighter. She feels grateful for the opportunity to step into the unique journey of others and walk alongside them through different stages and challenges.

Outside of her professional work, Katie enjoys spending quiet time either in nature — often in the mountains with her dog Joy — or at home painting or watching movies. Joy was named as a reminder for myself that there will always be joy hiding behind our fears.

“Music therapy allows individuals to explore their emotions, find their voice, and express themselves in ways that words alone cannot achieve.” - Dr. Kenneth Bruscia
